How it all started...
Literally starting out on the back side of the desert. Goshen House-Akron started out in a small suite in back of a commercial office space. For a year, we worshipped together, fellowshipped together, and grew in God together there.
Very quickly we out grew that space. We needed to move. Another suite became available and the House Affiliates, our partners, prayed and pursued that suite in faith. In one day, we moved from one small suite to a larger suite 4 times larger. It was there that we truly met God.

Very quickly we adopted the name "The Hem House" because it seemed as if someone was always reaching out for the Hem of Christ garment to be made whole. In this location we seen holes in hearts disappear, cancerous lumps dissolve, chronic back problem cease, and limbs extend and grow.
Goshen is also a compassionate church both internally and externally. We make it our business to assist, provide for, and give resources to any person in need. We are concerned about our community. We believe it is our responsibility to live out the words of Jesus- "For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me." Matthew 25: 35-36

Expanding the vision...
Everything was going well until we needed to move again. Similar to the first time, the House Affiliates prayed, and God provided. After six months of no place to call home, we finally purchased our own facilities. Right in the heart of West Akron, Goshen House has come to really make an impact within this community. We intend to maximize every opportunity to ensure that we maximize our vision. mission, and goals to those we love and serve right here in this community in Akron, OH.
Where we are headed...
BEYOND! Pastor Eric and Lady Amber are on a mission to lead Goshen House to a place called BEYOND, a place of "more than before!" We desire to be an integral, impactful, and influential church through the power and the authority given by Jesus Christ. We understand our responsibility to carry something unique for the city of Akron, OH and we are committed to doing so. We will go ABOVE and BEYOND, not to impress, but to IMPACT, EMBRACE, and Present Jesus Christ to this beautiful city!
